New & Improved Stadium

Dear students,

When I started the CLAA in 2008, I was eager to create a system that made rigorous learning fun by making a contest out of it.  To do that, I created the Stadium on the old site and it was very popular among students.

Unfortunately, I knew that that website would not last very long for us as our work grew more complicated, so I didn't continue the development of the Stadium.

Now, we have created our permanent website and I'm happy to announce that I will be making  a contest in each of the courses--and across the entire curriculum.

As a first taste, if you go to the Sacred Scripture course page, you'll see that there is now a  list of the Top Students in the course!

Here's how the points work:

1.  I will select activities that are required to be completed for the course to be completed.  Any activity I choose is automatically worth 1 point when it is completed by a student.

2.  On any graded activity, however, in addition to the 1 points, the total score on the assignment is also added to your course points total.  So, if an assignment is worth 10 points and you score a perfect 10, your score for that assignment will be 10 + 1 = 11 points.  Memory work tasks will be worth double if your parent/teacher submits a Certification form for the lesson.

What if someone cheats?  Don't worry...I will explain how cheaters will be caught soon.  ;)  This is just the beginning of what's going to be an awesome contest system for CLAA students.

I hope that you enjoy this--work hard!

Mr. Michael

NOTE:  If you see a ranking box at the top of a course page and it says, "No students to show", that is simply because we're still setting up the scoring for that course.  Each course's ranking will appear over the next few weeks.
